Temptation & the hazards of travel

Been a harrowing couple of weeks, but getting towards the Easter break which I am looking forward to, especially Easter Sunday .. big diet break that day!

Travelling in the morning interstate for a couple of days, always a test to search out good food versus taking the easy route and buying crap, looking forward to staring temptation in the face.

Cocktail parties, dinners, friends and loads of work so there is plenty of opportunity to take the easy way out and eat incorrectly, but I am committed to staying with the program, especially considering I didn’t lose last week – yes I was bad, I’ll write about it over the weekend.

Ciao for now

Week 6 & 7

It’s been a tough two weeks with the volume of demands outside of my weigh loss campaign, between work demands, the band I play in and a charity night that I have organised combining with nights I have my son, I’ve continued to find it tough to spend time doing video editing for the next few Cooking with Al segments and writing what I am going through

But here’s the latest sets of numbers to keep you up to date, I’ll write mid week and get back in the swing of the daily updates. So in just under 7 weeks I have lost 17.8 kilos, 7cm around my neck, 10cm off my chest, 16.5 cms around my waist, 13.5cm around the hips and 11.5cms from around the thighs, that’s a total of 58.5cms – pretty amazing. Feeling good, but still consumed by temptation at times.

Week 7

Weight 140.2kgs -2.1kgs
Neck 41cms -1cm
Chest 123.5cms -1cm
Arm 32.5cms -0.5cms
Waist 139.5cms -3cms
Hips 129cms -2.5cms
Thighs 94.5cms -1.5cms

Week 6

Weight 142.3kgs -1.2kgs
Neck 44cms no change
Chest 124.5cms no change
Arm 33.0cms no change
Waist 142.5cms -3cms
Hips 131.5cms -3cms
Thighs 96cms -0.5cms

Hard to balance

The last couple of weeks have been a real challenge, while still losing weight and following my eating plan, I am having a really hard time fitting everything into my day. From cooking, cleaning, work, organsising and exerciing in my different roles as father, brother, son, worker, band member, organiser etc.

The one thing I always let slip is myself, I know I need to start pushing the priority around towards me, as the benefit is receive in every other part of my life, but old habits die hard sometimes and the past 2 weeks have been very busy at work and also in organising a benefit gig for the Vic Bushfire Appeal.

I often wonder how everyone else manages to get the balance right, maybe I just think they do and in fact they are going through the same struggles as I am to make everything happen.

I’d love to hear how you manage to get the work / life balance right and what strategies you apply to keep yourself on track.

Losing it, Wk 5

Haven’t got all the details with me, but I’ll update tomorrow

This week I lost another 1.3 kilos, not bad after my big break last Friday

So 1.5 kilos in just under 5 weeks, not bad at all.
